7 Days ultimatum: Concerned Oro Youths dissatisfied with Oron Union, Oro Think Tank
Youths from Oro ethnic extraction under the aegis of Concerned Oro Youths have expressed dissatisfaction with the leaderships of Oron Union and Oro Think Tank for failing to provide trusted direction for the people.
Consequently, the Youths have given the leadership a seven-day ultimatum to turn things around or face emergence of alternative body to drive home the interests of Oro.
“We are patently dissatisfied with the state of the Oron Union and the Oro Think Tank. We can bet we are not alone, as a large section of the Oro nation feels this way.
“Every true born Oro son & daughter wants an Oron Union which is politically neutral.
“An Oron Union which provides a level playng ground for all politicians, aspirants and political parties.
“An Oron Union which thinks for the welfare and development of the entire Federal Constituency.
“An Oron Union which has the moral high ground to be the Clearing House for all politicians, elected and appointed officers. These are not too much to ask.
“If the present Oron Union refuses to provide clear evidence it is prepared to act for Oro, and not ready to get out of the way, then they are sending a transparent message that an alternative body is inevitable.
“The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria guarantees freedom of speech and association.
“The same argument is true for the Oro Think Tank which has so far failed to provide political direction for the Oro people, or to evolve fair and just policies for political engagements amongst Oro sons and daughters.
“Sequel to this notice, there will be an intense social media advocacy and mobilization to drive home the foregoing viewpoints, except a clear picture of change is presented within the next seven days,” Concerned Oro Youths said.
