2023: I’ll not be a bench warmer in the senate – Enoidem
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, has assured the people of effective and active representation in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly if voted into office as Senator representing the zone.
Enoidem gave the assurance on Thursday at the commencement of the Senatorial district Ward Tour in Odoro 1, Ito 1 and Ito 3 wards, Ika LGA, he noted that he will not be a bench warmer in the senate but will sponsor life touching bills and also ensure that his constituents are carried along.
While unveiling his plans for Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, Barr. Enoidem assured that his representation will bring development to the remote parts of Ika LGA and reiterated his commitment to ensure quality and equal representation when elected.
“I am a son of Ika, and I am conversant with the challenges facing the area. I will not be a bench-warmer in the Senate, I will speak and bring back empowerment for our people. I promise to sponsor bills that would deliver dividends of democracy to the people of this Ward in particular and the Senatorial district in general.”
The PDP candidate decried the security situation and economic hardship in the country due to what he termed APC’s ineptitude and mismanagement of the economy, stating that the APC has failed in all indices of governance which is why the people are yearning and looking forward to the return of the PDP at the Federal level.
He assured Ika people that the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar would effectively tackle the challenges in the country with his experience as the former Vice President.
He noted that the Ward Tour will afford him the opportunity to have first hand information and on-the-spot assessment of the needs of the constituents so as to be properly abreast with their needs towards attracting governments attention to them based on their individual need assessment.
The former PDP National Legal Adviser who went down memory lane on the many achievement of the PDP to Ika people and Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, reiterated the determination of the PDP to continue to attract dividends of democracy to Ika people, noting with delight that the Power Sub Station to be constructed in Etim Ekpo LGA intended to service Etim Ekpo, Ika and Ukanafun LGA’s courtesy of Governor Udom Emmanuel and the PDP will trigger development and prosperity in the area and help boost businesses and entrepreneurship which will lead to massive job creation and poverty eradication, and urged the people to sustain their support and solidarity to the PDP come 2023.
Enoidem urged the electorates to vote for all PDP candidates for a new Nigeria citizens desire and deserve and urged registered voters to go and collect their Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, at the various INEC offices as their PVC remain their weapon to vote in credible, competent, visionary and purposeful leaders that would transform the nation and redirect its destiny to the path of growth, progress, development and prosperity.
Barr Enoidem who is anchoring his campaign on six cardinal pillars which include Agriculture, Strategic Empowerment of Youth and Women, Power Sufficiency, Education with emphasis on Vocational Training, Clay Mining/Refinery and Glass Production visited Odoro 1, Ito 1, and Ito 3 in Ika LGA on day one of his Campaign tour to the 108 Wards in the Senatorial District.
He declared that the Akwa Ibom State PDP Governorship candidate, Pastor Umo Eno is the only gubernatorial candidate standing on two legs as far as the 2023 Governorship election is concerned, even as he tasked the electorates not to waste their votes on other candidates or parties.
Barr. Enoidem hinted that the candidacy of Pastor Umo Eno is sealed with Political, Judicial and Constitutional validity, while others are on shaky legs and foundations, assuring that the PDP win the forthcoming elections resoundingly.
“I want to assure all of you here that Pastor Umo Eno is the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State who will be sworn-in on May 29th, 2023. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise and don’t waste your votes on any other candidate. He is the only candidate standing on two legs”.
