2023: Group to embark on Door-to-Door Campaign for Umo Eno
A socio-political group, Movement for Imminent Growth (MIG), has concluded plans to embark on a door-to-door campaign for governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, even as the 2023 general elections draw closer.
The National Coordinator, Mr. Ezekiel Ibanga, made this known during the group’s stakeholders’ meeting held in Ewet Housing estate, Uyo, over the weekend.
Ezekiel noted that even though the PDP is the dominant party in the state, there was still need to persuade voters at the grassroots to vote for Pastor Eno in the 2023 gubernatorial election, maintaining that no stone should be left unturned.
While charging members of the group to continue sensitising the people on the need to get their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC), the National Coordinator expressed optimism that Pastor Eno would create jobs in the state if he wins the forthcoming election.
“”I can assure you that when Pastor Umo Eno becomes Governor, there will be jobs for you. In his government, people will be given grants to start businesses to be useful to themselves and their families,” he said.
Also speaking, Chairman, Board of Trustees of the group, Pastor Samuel Inyang, said that he was impressed with the massive turn out of members to the meeting, noting that their efforts would not go unrewarded.
Pastor Inyang, who is also a protocol officer to Pastor Eno, expressed hope that the PDP’s standard bearer would change the economic fortunes of the state within six months when he becomes Governor.
He said “when pastor Umo Eno wins the election, I give you six months and most youths will be highly engaged, unless the ones that do not want to work. But if you want to work, you will definitely get something to do.”
Deputy National Coordinator of the group, Mr. Jimmy Usen and the woman leader, Mrs. Nsini inwang who took turns to speak, stressed the need for members to guard their PVCs as it is their authority to decide the outcome of the 2023 elections.
The meeting attracted over 300 participants including the national leadership, all the Chapter and Ward Coordinators of all the 31 Local Government Areas of the State and others.
