-2020 NUJ PRESS WEEK: Journalists, Medical Doctors set for epic clash
-Eighteen players invited to camp
As parts of activities to mark this year’s Nigeria Union of Journalists 2020 NUJ PRESS WEEK celebration in Akwa Ibom State, the leadership of the Union has approved a novelty football match between Team NUJ (Pen Pushers) and the Nigeria Medical Association NMA in the state.
The epic clash will be staged at the iconic NUJ playground along Information Drive in Uyo on Wednesday 9 December, 2020 by 3pm.
Coach of team Pen Pushers Comrade Mfon Patrick after consultations with other members of the technical crew has proposed a two week camping period for the eighteen (18) invited players for the crucial game.
Players invited are; experienced captain Bassey Ibiatisuho of Planent FM, goalkeeper Nsibiet John – The Ink Newspaper, Pastor Michael Bush – SA to Governor, Ekemini Simon – Crystal Express, Dianaime Uko – Inspiration FM, Essien Nduese – Govement House media, Gideon Ekere – The Post, Uko Edet – Sensor Newspaper, Nsikak Essenowo – Ministry of Information, Ubong Inyang – The Ink Newspaper.
Others are; Godwin Akpan – For the Love TV, Umana Ubeng, Samuel Asuquo, Kufre Edet, Ekemini Bassey, Basil Ikpe, Otobong Gabriel and Eneh John.
Team Pen Pushers will have two training sessions this week with the first trainnig session taking place on Tuesday 17 and the second on Thursday 19 November, 2020 at the NUJ playground by 5pm.
The latest FIFA badge referee in Akwa Ibom State Ms Mfon Akpan has been assigned to officiate the novelty match.
