Why Wike tagged IPOB stranger elements that should vacate Rivers State
By tagging IPOB stranger elements, the Governor of Rivers State has indirectly called the Igbos including himself stranger in Rivers State.
But see reasons below,
The Biafra agitators are not strategic, some of us only knows how to rant from morning till night making noise in the media without roadmap, no strategy, we can now see the importance of mobilising and sensitizing other Biafrans outside Igbo area, we failed to realize that having an indigenous movement won’t lead to Wike saying some people are “stranger elements”, this is because he sees it as non Rivers people fighting for Biafra in his state, those that have radio were busy promoting Chukwu Abiama and sidelining other areas and names of their God, and expect them to support you, when we raised an alarm that they were scaring other tribes away from the struggle, they refused to listen, instead they called us kids, they will be talking and addressing only the Igbo people, but when it is about where is Biafra and where is not Biafra they start laying claims to the rest tribes, why won’t you be called “stranger elements” by Wike? nobody can tag BNYL stranger elements or ask us to relocate because we are an indigenous movement, BNYL in Ikom is Ikom people, BNYL in Oyigbo is Oyigbo native people not just Abia or Imo residents, BNYL in Akamkpa is Akamkpa people, BNYL in Eket is Eket people, and headed by the indigenous people, this is the advantage of having an indigenous people.
On Wike’s broadcast, My Position
Rivers State Governor goofed when he blamed attacks that followed the EndSars protest on a particular group of people, this protest was Nigerian Youths protest and no group championed it, it is something every group participated including Obio/Akpor Wike town youths, not only in Rivers State that property were burnt and life lost, same thing happened in Benin, Ondo and Oyo including Calabar and the attackers are not IPOB, it is not written on their foreheads who is IPOB and who is an EndSars protester, so how come about his claim?
Since Wike made his broadcast, I have been following with keen interest his utterances, but the truth is that he cannot ban Biafra activities in Rivers, he may succeed in gaining some support in the non Igbo speaking parts who are yet to understand the struggle but it would be difficult for him in Oyigbo, in Etchie, in Egbema, in Ogbaland, even in Ikwerre and his Obio/Akpor side of Ikwerre where you cannot differentiate his people and the people he referred to as “stranger elements”, if he likes he should keep jumping up claiming to be a Niger Delta region, who cares?, He would end up harming more of his people but he will not succeed, nobody that does not know Wike to be a typical Igbo man whose people are suffering from identity crisis.
We know how and why Rivers State was created, we know that Niger Delta is an Ijaw region, Ikwerre was carved out from Igbo people during creation of Rivers State, while Oyigbo was carved out from Abia during boundary adjustment, Wike and his people don’t have any other language they speak apart from the Igbo dialect of Ikwerre, he has no single Bini or Ijaw name, if you doubt let’s check out meaning of his names; Ezebunwo (Dialect) -Ezebunwa (standard Igbo), Nyesom (dialect)- Onyesom (standard Igbo), Wike (dialect), Nwike (Standard Igbo).
Eli (dialect)- Ala (standard Igbo), Woko or Nwoko in Imo (dialect) – Nwoke (standard Igbo).
Tell me what makes Wike a Niger Delta? I guess he meant the political Niger Delta and not the geographical aspect.
