Uwemedimo Udo: Udom Emmanuel Commissions Admin Block to mark Uyo council boss’ 100 days in office
-Commends Council Chairman for Achievement in 100 days
Akwa Ibom state Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel has commissioned a 24 office space administrative block with 3 Registry Apartment at the Uyo Local Government Council Secretariat.
Governor Emmanuel, while speaking at the commissioning ceremony Tuesday, 23rd March, 2021 at the Uyo Council Secretariat, commended the Chairman Dr Uwemedimo Udo for the giant achievements he has recorded in just 100 days in office, noted that Uyo LG will speak volume after the Chairman’s 3 years in its saddle
The state Chief Executive observed the passion and zeal exhibited by Dr Uwemedimo Udo to make Uyo LG assume its pride of place and lauded the council Chairman for harmonizing Uyo people, describing the harmonization as the greatest achievement by Dr Uwemedimo Udo.
“While we are here to commission projects, I am happy to see that Uyo people are happy, for you to bring everybody together is much more than what is seen on ground, because when you have your people’s support, you will definitely succeed,” he said.
The governor expressed satisfaction to Dr Uwemedimo Udo and his team stressed that he was performing well even in the face of the dwindling economy.
“For you to be faithful in the little you are receiving and have done this, it therefore means God has a bigger plan for you,” the governor noted.
The governor who urged the Uyo Chairman not to be intimidated by anyone, stated that any position one finds him or herself was through the power and will of God as it was only God that elects Kings not man.
Governor Emmanuel advised the Dr Uwemedimo Udo not to relent in his good works but continue to deliver quality and visible service to the people of Uyo LG.
Earlier, the host Chairman, Dr Uwemedimo Udo in his welcome remarks, disclosed that his inspiration was drawn from governor Emmanuel’s pragmatic Leadership style and his Sterling strides of purposeful governance in Akwa Ibom state, said Uyo LG was aligning with the Governor’s Completion Agenda of good governance.
He disclosed that his Uyo led administration was working on Five Point Agenda which includes, Education, Healthcare, Human capacity development as well as Agriculture.
The Uyo Chairman expressed joy that he has been able to record lofty achievement within his first three months in office and listed items in his score card to include, construction of Udom administrative block, procurement and installation of 300KVA Transformer, grading of rural roads, provision of water supply at Uyo shopping complex and Health center at Willington Bassey Way.
Other achievements of the chairman are; provision of communication gadgets for mobilization unit, installation of renewable energy Source, building of platform at Akpan Andem market, as well as review of some development Bye laws in Uyo LG.
Dr Uwemedimo Udo affirmed that the milestones recorded by his administration was as a result of his avowed commitment to render service alone to his people reiterated his undetered promise to continue to work for the good of Uyo LG .
Dr Uwemedimo Udo thanked members of his team and the Uyo 7th Legislative Council for the wonderful support and cooperation to ensure his administration succeeds.
He also thanked the entire people of Uyo LG for standing by him in the past three months, assured to continue to deliver on his mandate.
In their separate Goodwill messages, the Commissioner for LG and Chieftaincy Affairs, hon Frank Achibong, the Member representating Uyo state Constituency in Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly, Rt hon. Anietie Eka, the Chairman of UCCDA, Mr. Enobong Uwa and the commissioner for Environment, Sir Charles Udoh all lauded the Uyo Chairman, said he was a gift to Uyo people.
