Unknown gunmen kidnap Cross River Women Affairs Commissioner
Prof. Katrude Njar, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Cross River State has been kidnapped in the early hours of Wednesday at the heart of Calabar city, along Myne Avenue, Calabar.
Briefing journalists in his office during this week’s ministerial briefing, the Commissioner for Information, Mr Eric Eso Anderson, says he is fully aware of the incident.
He said, “I was informed this morning that one of our colleagues, in the Women Affairs Ministery, Prof. Katrude Njar has been kidnapped by men of the underworld in the early hours of today, Wednesday, 1st February 2023.
“I wish to state that I am fully aware of the incident, though her vehicle has been uncovered by the Police. The State Commissioner of Police CP. Sule Bararabe has also confirmed the incidence and had equally assured us that her search is on top gear to unravel where they have taken her to at the moment” the commissioner assured.
The effort to get the state commissioner of Police, CP. Sule Bararabe to comment on the incident was not yielded any tangible result as the Commissioner could not respond to phone calls.
Meanwhile, at the time of filling this report, the state Police Public Relations Officer’s, PPRO, SP, Irene Ugbo’s phone number was not going through.
