…Tinubu was allegedly involved in the attack on the protesters in Lagos
The former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been accused of ordering the soldiers to shoot at peaceful and harmless young EndSARS protesters at Lekki Toll Gate Tuesday night
Not fewer than 43 young Nigerian protesters were gruelsomely murdered by the military personnel for allegedly defiling the 24-hour curfew imposed on the state by the state government.
It was also reported that the former Governor has allegedly left the country after the massacre.
Consequently, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu has ordered investigation into the massacre as he visited the youth victims in the hospitals.
Meanwhile, condemnations have trailed the recent attack on the protesters.
The recently one came from the former US Democratic Party presidential candidate, Mrs Hikary Clinton who called on President Buhari to stop the killing of young Nigerian protesters.
Clinton, the former US secretary of State during President Barak Obama’s regime made tge call throw her tweeter handle.
The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria has also called on the federal government to listen to the demands of young protester, describing the protesters demands to endSARS as a “Cry for justice and peace”.
The Catholic Bishops urged the Federal Government to grant the request of the protesters for justice and peace to reign in the country.
Other religious organisations, leaders have thrown their weight behind the protest calling for the reforand other concerns
Nigerian youths are protesting against police brutality, extra judicial killings, unwarranted arrest by men of the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) and bad governance in the country.
The youths are demanding a total reform to the police force with a better welfare package to enable them serve effectively as their counterparts in other climes.
They are also calling for the reduction in the salary of National Assembly members, electoral reforms, corruption among others for a better Nigeria.
The EndSARS protest which started two weeks ago in Lagos and Abuja has gained momentum across the country where the youths took to the streets to press home their demands.
Though the inspector General of Police Muhammed Adamu has disbanded the dreaded SARS unit of the Nigeria Pokice Force and replaced same with the new team – Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) which the youths also rejected.
