READMANIA: Etido Inyang drums support for John Obot
The Chairman of the Ibom Power Company Board, Engr. Etido Inyang, has sent a solidarity message to Mr. John Obot, who is a about to break Guinness World Record for the longest reading aloud of books by an individual for 145 hours.
According to the solidarity statement released by Engr. Etido and made available Press men, Engr. Etido lauded John Obot’s passion to break the world record, saying it is an enormous feat to be achieved by an Akwa Ibom man and enjoined all Nigerians to imbibe a good reading habit.
In his words ” This is an enormous feat about to be achived by John ,especially as it is coming in an era when it is widely believed that an African man never reads hence the popular saying ” if you want to hide something from an African man, hide it in a book” . However, i am proud that an African man from Ikot Ekpene- the premier Local Government in British colonized West Africa is about to change that narrative. I commend his courage and enjoin everyone to imbibe a reading culture as reading is living”.
Engr. Etido praised him for his resilience, perseverance, and consistency in pursuing his passion and using the opportunity to put Nigeria and Akwa Ibom State on the global map.
He appealed to every well meaning Nigerian to not only emulate John Obot’s zeal to redefine the reading culture of Nigerians but to also support him in his mission to break the Guinness Work Record for the longest reading aloud of books by an individual for 145 hours.
