NYSC: Council chairman assures Corps Members of adequate security
The Essien Udim Council Chairman, Mr. Anthony Luke has assured Corps Members posted to the area of adequate security, peace and cooperation to succeed in their national service.
The Chairman, who gave the assurance while addressing some corps members posted to the area in his office at the Council Secretariat, Afaha Ikot Ebak charged them to be of good behaviour and go about their businesses without any fear of intimidation or harassment.
While allaying the fear of insecurity in the area he noted that the crisis encountered in the area some times in 2021 was caused by some hoodlums who invaded a particular village in the area from the neighbouring states and attacked security formations but that it has since been resolved.
“”I want to assured you that the crisis has been curtailed and normalcy and sanity has since returned to the affected community through the timely intervention of the council with the help of the executive Governor of the State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel. So, I want to urge you to feel free as you serve in Essien Udim. We will do our best to secure you but God will protect you throughout your stay in Essien Udim,” he assured.
According to the Chairman, Essien Udim is one of the safest local government areas now in the state and charged them to be responsible and shun criminal tendencies and bad companies that may lure them into dangers.
He also charged the head of schools and establishments were the corps members are will be doing their primary assignments to ensure the are well taken care of.
