NURTW backs out of planned protest
The Chairman National Union of Road Transport Workers (N.U.R.T.W) Akwa Ibom State Council,Obong Uwem Imo Inyang has said that the union in the state will not be part of the planned protest from August 1.
Obong Uwem Imo Inyang stated this while exchanging views with newsmen in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital yesterday.
According to Obong Inyang, the NURTW is committed to the peace and safe transportation of the members of the public from one location to the other. He warned protesters not to take their protest to any of the motor parks in the state as such actions will not be welcome .
The union leader advised drivers, motorcyclists and Keke riders to ignore the protest and go about their legitimate businesses noting that the protest was capable of causing further hardship and pains to her members.
Obong Uwem Imo Inyang said the union was committed to peace building and orderly living.
