Maintain Peace Movement: Isantim Kenneth Okon emerges Etinan Coordinator
A former chairman of Etinan Local Government Council, has been inaugurated to steer the ship of the Maintain Peace Movement, MPM, in Etinan Local Government Area.
Obong Kenneth Okon, who was unveiled during the visit of the state leadership of the Maintain Peace Movement to the area on Wednesday, assured that Etinan will continue to keep faith with the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP because Governor Udom Emmanuel has been very fair to Etinan people.
“Etinan has never supported any other party since 1999, Mr Kenneth Okon said, adding that the MPM is answerable to the party and will support Governor Emmanuel to succeed.
Inaugurating the Etinan Local Government steering committee , Chairman of the Maintain Peace Movement, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem also eulogised Mr Paul Ekpo as a man of impeccable character, who managed the party very efficiently during his tenure as state chairman of the party.
Barr Enoidem recounted that economic development in Etinan has been enhanced through the massive dual roads networks by Governor Udom Emmanuel in the area.
He said that the peace movement has been formed to ensure that beyond the tenure of Govenor Emmanuel in 2023, the peace instituted in the state is sustained.
“MPM stands for lovers of peace, MPM represents advocates of Peace and also means Udom Emmanuel”, Enoidem echoed.
He urged the people of Etinan to ensure that they register in the ongoing continuous voter’s registration exercise of PDP, maintaining that Akwa Ibom with a population of 7.5million should poll at least 3.5million votes in the next general elections.
He also advised the party members to update their membership in the ongoing online party membership
The Secretary of the Steering committee in Etinan is also the Chairman of Etinan local government area, Mr Cletus Ekpo.

Advisers of the committee in Eitnan are, Bishop Andrew Uwanta, Akparawa Patrick Udofia, Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Obot, Rt. Sam Ikon, Obong Kingsley Peters, Akparawa Udoh Ekwere, Engr. Billy Etuk.
In a related development, the enthusiasm of PDP faithfuls in Nsit Ibom to display their support for the Governor Udom Emmanuel administration was in full display as the Maintain Peace Movement berthed in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area on Wednesday.
The just inaugurated steering committee in Nsit Ibom local government area is to ensure that the local government coordinating committee and ward committees are set up within one week.
They are to ensure that every eligible indigene of the area gets registered in the ongoing INEC continuous voter’s registration programme.
The Chairman of the pan Akwa Ibom State peace advocacy group, Barr Emmnauel Enoidem gave this charge when he led the Maintain Peace Movement state working committee to Afaha Offiong, Nsit Ibom local government area.
He also charged the members to ensure that they get party faithful to enrol in the online party registration programme.
Nsit Ibom Maintain Peace Movement is coordinated by the local government chairman, Mr Eric Akpan, while the Secretary is former Speaker Hon. Anietie Etuk.
Others include, Hon. Ifiok Udoh, Hon Ananam Nkanga, Hon Nsikak Ikpe, Mrs Aniedi Inyang, Mr. Uwem D. Etuk, Mr Inyang Iwok Inyang, Mr. Iniobong John, Mrs Eyakndueh Unam, representing the women, Mr Inemesit Ubokudom for the youths.
The Advisers include Obong Francis Inyang, Mr Emmanuel Okure, Prof Nseabasi Akpan, Hon Imoh Udoh and General Paul Isang(rtd).
The chairman of Nsit Ibom, Hon. Eric Akpan, who is the coordinator in Nsit Ibom pledged the support of Nsit Ibom people to the Completion Agenda of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
