Ita Enang and Governor Udom again
As Akwa Ibom celebrates 33 anniversary of state creation, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Sen Ita Enang has challenged Governor Udom Emmanuel to reveal the real owners of the five (5) aircrafts operated by Ibom Air to Akwa Ibomites.
Enang who was speaking on a live radio interview in the state commended the Akwa Ibom State Government for establishing Ibom Airline but insisted that the Aircrafts are not own by the state government but a private individual.
The President’s aide however lauded the management of the airline.
“Ibom Air, in my opinion, is the best managed airline in Nigeria. The airline is owned by the Akwa Ibom State government but the aircrafts are owned by a private individual.
“There are five aircrafts in operation. Akwa Ibom State government must tell the state who owns the aircrafts.
Senator Enang, while challenging the state government to prove otherwise and also disclose how much income the aircrafts have generated into the state treasury, congratulated Governor Udom Emmanuel for being the governor under which the state is celebrating 33rd anniversary.
Enang scored the governor high in security of lives and property in the state but rated his administration very low in terms of job creation and employment.
“He has done well in terms of security. But in terms of employment, it is F9. In terms of jobs, it is P8,” he opined.
On the much touted industrialization of the state, Enang stressed that those industries do not belong to Akwa Ibom State Governement as the state only provides enabling environment for the establisment of those industries.
He also challenged the state government to prove otherwise if those industries are owned by the state and how many Akwa Ibomites have been employed by those industries.
He asserted that the State government does not have a single share in Kings Flour Mill in Onna, adding that the company is owned by private investors who are not Nigerians.
Meanwhile, some citizens of the state who spoke with Morenews.ng have asked the state governor to as a matter of urgency respond to Enang’s statement.
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in the State who pleaded anonymity said “even the PDP will like the governor to come out clean on this allegations.”
He expressed confidence in the governor’s ability to reply Ita Enang with facts and figures as he believes the governor has nothing to hide about the industries and Ibom Air
