Insecurity: Essien Udim stakeholder lauds Council Chairman for proactive measures
The Chairman, Essien Udim Local Government Council, Mr Anthony Luke has been commended for his proactive measures to curb insecurity and restore sanity to the area.
The Political Leader of Adiasim Ward, Engr Oliver Ebong who gave the commendation recently in the council expressed gratitude for the Chairman’s decisive stance against cultism, criminality and hooliganism in the area.
He expressed optimism that that Essien Udim is in safe hands with the Chairman and the quality of people working with him.
The political leader also lauded the Chairman for taking steps to transform the area and also touching lives positively through human capacity development, sanitation and security of lives and property.
“I pray God to keep me alive to witness the miracle that is about to happen in Essien Udim through Mr Anthony Luke’s administration,” Engr Ebong said.
He solicited support and cooperation among the political class and the staff of the council for the Chairman to succeed in implementing his administration’s blueprint and lofty programmes he has already started for the benefit of Essien Udim.
According to him, the Chairman has the capacity to perform better than any other administration given his wealth of experience and background as a grassroot person and an homegrown politician.
He called for conserted efforts to succeed in the fight agaisnt insecurity and crime in the area by giving useful information to the security agaencies.
In his remarks, the Council Chairman, Mr Anthony Luke thanked the political leader for his support and encouragement as he reiterated his resolve to ensure the safety of lives and property of the people of Essien Udim.
“I’ll ensure Essien Udim is safe for all. There is no reason while people at the rural areas should not be free to go about their legitimate businesses at anytime.
“My administration is determined to wipe out hoodlums and miscreants in Essien Udim and make the area safe for social and economic activities to thrive and make life better for our people,” the Chairman stressed.
The Council boss also expressed his determination to improve on the welfare of the people and leave enduring legacies at the end of his tenure, stressing that the motivation behind his ambition is beyond monetary gains.
“Even if I go home with nothing at the end of my tenure, I will be satisfied provided my people feel the impact of my administration,” he posited.
