Imo State Assembly Speaker impeached
The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Chiji Collins, has been impeached over alleged financial impropriety, high handedness, and gross misconduct.
Collins was removed on Friday during a plenary session in the assembly complex in Owerri.
When the motion of the former speaker’s impeachment was move, it was supported by 19 out of the 27 members of the House.
He has since been replaced by Hon. Paul Emeziem from Onuimo Local Government Area.
