Guber Elections: Why Akwa Ibom People Will Vote PDP, Pastor Umo Eno – Charles Udo
The people of Akwa Ibom State will vote gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Umo Eno, and all House of Assembly candidates of the party in the March 11 Governorship and House of Assembly elections for the sustenance of the peace currently witnessed in the state, the state’s Commissioner for Environment, Sir Charles Udoh, has said.
Udoh, a former Commissioner for Information and Strategy, stated this on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, while featuring as guest on Peace Voice, a Maintain Peace Movement (MPM) sponsored radio programme on Inspiration fm, Uyo.
The high level of peace in the state, according to him, has further translated into ecoomic gains for the state and people doing businesses in the state.
“There’s something we take for granted and that’s peace. It’s like the way you take the air you breathe for granted. Until you have a respiratory tract infection, you won’t appreciate the air that your breathing. If you look at the peace Akwa Ibom State is endowed with, you can tell why there is an increasing number of visitors in the state.
“Money is a coward. Money will not go to where there is trouble and that is why if there is war in any city or any country, businesses and economic activities crumble. You can see the economic activities in Akwa Ibom striving because of the peace we have here,” he said.
While stating that Pastor Eno’s emergence could be likened to God taking power to the church, the commissioner said that the state was safer in the hands of a pastor as he would lead with good conscience and in the fear of God.
He said “for me, I see the emergence of Pastor Umo Eno as God taking power into the church. Everyone who goes to church on Sunday should be delighted that a man of God is at the verge of ascending the throne as the state’s governor.”
He highlighted the five pillars of the ARISE Agenda of the guber candidate, maintaining that the people of the state will enjoy sustainable development and progress in all areas.
He said with Pastor Umo Eno’s managerial experience in the private and public sector, he stands shoulder high amongst other candidates in terms of competence and capacity.
