The National Leadership of the Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON), has warned that the group will not fold their hands and watch subversive and unscrupulous elements destabilise the peace and stability of the country.
The National President of ELFON; Ambassador Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel made the remarks during an Emergency virtual meeting with Principal Officers of ELFON and 16 heads of 16 prominent national youth and student groups on Saturday, 7th November, 2020.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, Amb. Godstime said that there will be no room for further show of disunity in Nigeria, noting that it is time to get it right against all odds.
He informed local government chapters governing 24 youth associations and social media platforms that the Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON) is determined to ensure democratic stability in Nigeria as the only panacea for development and progress through conferences, symposiums and media awareness.
According to him, the best system of governance is democracy and we must all ensure that Nigeria’s democracy remained stable and steady.
“We thank the Inspector General of Police; IGP Muhammed Adamu Abubakar for the establishment of the people oriented initiative; Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) which will go along way in partnering the youths to reduce social vices within and outside campuses.
“We will not allow any force, elements or destabilising agents in or outside our country to set our beloved country on fire, and as such, We salute the doggedness, intelligence, defence and diligent tactics of the Lt.Gen. The ELFON President stated that the events of the past few weeks in the country have shown the determination of some unscrupulous individuals and groups to destabilise Nigeria by all means.
“We make bold to state that we have mobilized 22 million dogged, patriotic and progressive Nigerian Youths across the 774 LGAs of the Federation to Partner with the security agencies to ensure a One United Nigeria forthwith.
