Governor Otu Commission Ultra Modern Cinema Outfit in Calabar
The tourism industry in Cross River State, Nigeria, is experiencing a revival with the commissioning of the ultra-modern Kada Cinema at the Marina Resort in Calabar, the state capital. This development is in line with the state government’s commitment to reviving all ailing industries in the region.
The Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, expressed his gratitude to the Managing Director of Kada Cinema, His Excellency Lucky Igbinidion, for bringing this investment to Calabar. Governor Otu emphasized that Cross River State is known for its hospitality and entertainment, and the addition of Kada Cinema further enhances this reputation. He also assured the MD of the government’s support in ensuring the success of the venture.
The event took place on Tuesday at the Marina Resort, Calabar.
In his words, the governor said, “Unbehave of the MD. Kada Cinema, His Excellency, ChiefLucky Igbinidion, the former governor of Edo State, we thank you for bringing Kada Cinema to Calabar. I want to thank, His Excellency for bringing this investment into state e, indeed Cross River state is home to hospitality and entertainment. We are so glad that you have started with this, but I know that greater things are going to be added. You are not making any mistakes as life is going to bubble around here. We know the other thing to do is to make sure that this environment is regularly enabled to give you sufficient customers. I know that others are coming in to invest. It would be a great opportunity. But as the government of Cross River state, we are willing and ready to support you in any way to succeed. Let me also say that the Carnival is fully back. We are warming up and I know that this cinema hall is not going to contain the number of people that will be visiting here. Let me assure everyone that from 1st to the end of December is not going to be any dole moment” the governor said.
The Managing Director, represented by Favour Igbinidoon, expressed their appreciation to Governor Otu for providing them with the opportunity to invest in the state’s tourism sector. He stated that Kada Cinema, along with other investments such as Bisto Restaurants and Kada Pharmacy, will contribute to the overall entertainment experience for residents and visitors alike.
The commissioning of Kada Cinema is a significant step towards revitalizing the tourism industry in Cross River State. With the governor’s assurance that the Carnival is fully back and the anticipation of a bustling environment, it is expected that the cinema hall will attract a large number of visitors. This development is a positive sign for the state’s economy and will create employment opportunities for the local population.
Also speaking, the Cross-State Managing Director of, the Tourism Bureau, Mr. Ojoi Ekpyong maintained that Cross River is indeed Africa, a Tourism destination. He said, “In less than 3 months what we are seeing here was brought to bear by His Excellency, Lucky Igbinidion, the former governor of Edo State. Cross River State is known for being the First, Cross River State is known for the best, and today we are here to bring out the best of cinema. We welcome our partners, we welcome our families, students, as well as lovers of movies, here we are. We have the best for you” Ekpeyong assured.
