Gov Umo Eno’s Chief Photographer, Idara Adiakpan Celebrates with Women, Children in Onna
It was a joyous moment for the women of Afaha Ubium and the children at the Motherless Babies Home, Mkpok, both in ONNA local Government Area, as the Chief Photographer to the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Ms Idara Adiakpan, like Santa Claus, visited and celebrated Christmas with them.
Addressing the children, who were full of smiles on seeing the beautifully dressed and regular visitor to their home, Ms Adiakpan said working with a Governor who is so fond of children, has inspired her deep love for children, hence her repeated visits to support and check on the children.
She said Christmas is a season of celebrating love and she could not think of a better way of beginning her Christmas than by celebrating with the children.
The tall and graceful lady who took time to interact with the children, including a newborn, individually, said though the children might not see the Governor himself, her visit is simply an extension of the Governor’s benevolence and care, and urged them to always remember to pray for the Governor and the State.
Similarly, the Governor’s aide who, on return to her father’s country home, was greeted by colourfully dressed women of Afaha Ubium, said she was delighted to extend the Governor’s benevolence on her to the women in her community.
She noted that though the present economy in the country might be somewhat challenging, the Governor has doled out different packages for Christmas and it was only expedient for her to compliment the Governor’s giving hands to her community.
Presenting the different food items to the women, Ms Adiakpan who was accompanied by colleagues, assured that with the help of God, she will continue to extend the Governor’s love to them from time to time.
Speaking on behalf of the women, Mrs Glory Jackson Udo, appreciated the gifts, saying the women were excited to have a daughter who remembers her people, and also appreciated the Governor for her appointment.
She equally appreciated her parents for her good orientation, and assured of continuous prayers and support for the principal, the Governor.
Earlier at the Orphanage, Matron in charge of the Home, Mrs Caroline Uwem Itene, appreciated Ms Adiakpan for her compassionate disposition, repeated visits and love for the children at the orphanage.
She said, “we know the Governor likes children, he has shown that he is truly a father of all, we appreciate and love him.”
