Get ready to accept the forthcoming election results in good faith – Bishop Isong tells politicians
The President and founder of the Christian Central Chapel International, CCCI, Bishop Emmah Isong have called on the Nigerian politicians in the country to accept the results of the forthcoming elections in good faith instead of mobilizing thugs to cause mayhem in the country.
He said, “Get ready to accept the forthcoming election results in good faith instead of mobilizing thugs to cause maybe in the polity”
He gave the call on Thursday at his church auditorium Ikot Enebong, 8 miles, Calabar while receiving the Peace Ambassadorial award, awarded to by Universal Peace Federation, UPF.
Universal Peace Federation, UPF, which is Headquartered in South Africa is an International and Interreligious network and organization, which members got across religion, government, and Civil Societies including the private sector are saddled with the responsibility of achieving peaceful coexistence in our world.
In his remarks, Bishop Isong who maintained that he had received more than 55 awards and rejected many due to unverified sources, said on Saturday Nigerians would troupe out en mass during the time of election to vote instead of settling for a revolution. He, therefore, calls on every Nigerian to go out en masse and vote for the candidates of their choice so that the nation can move forward.
“Let us start with the umpire, INEC. Don’t compromise our franchise. Don’t collect money from politicians. Whatever is the technicality of the law and the lacuna of the legal system, let our ballot boxes and voters card speak louder than every other voice including even the voice of the presidency.”
“Everyone contesting for election should get ready to lose and when you lose, carry what we called “Goodluck Johnathan’s anointing”, call the winner and congratulate him, don’t mobilize your thugs, we are not ready for any form of thuggery or any form of post-election violence. Please every contestant should get ready to congratulate the winner” he maintained.
The event was well attended by his family members, his friends and many individuals from wide and near to witness the award presentation and decoration.
The Director of the Universal Peace Federation, Dr George Ikpott, while conducting the investiture opined that Bishop Isong was chosen for the award based on his boldness toward fighting for peace in Nigeria and outside the shore of Nigeria, stressing that Ambassador for Peace must be people with proven track records of integrity, who live for others and believes and work for interreligious unity among other qualities.
Other notable individuals who joined in the decoration, include, Bishop John Okoriko of Abundance Life Faith Chapel, Uyo, and Rev. Williams Sam Williams among other officials of the UPF.
Bishop Isong was decorated with a medal and awarded Ambassador of Peace.
