Frank Archibong: Promoting Education Beyond Bound

While the public educational system in Nigeria is grappling with challenges including insecurity, dilapidated facilities, inadequate/untrained tutors, archaic curriculum et al, individuals like Hon. Frank Archibong are doing their utmost best to change the narrative.
Hon. Frank Archibong hails from Eket Local Area of Akwa Ibom State. He currently serve in the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
He previously held sway as Executive Chairman of his native Eket LGA and also functioned as Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Akwa Ibom State Chapter.
Hon. Archibong is unarguably one of the best hands in the State Cabinet.
In pushing the need to compliment the Completion Agenda of Governor Udom Emmanuel, Frank Archibong has become a utility man.
He solves problems irrespective of the jurisdiction. Buoyed by his love for education, he is ensuring that the enterprising spirit and burning zeal of students are rekindled.
Suffice to say that he has offered scholarships to students up to tertiary level and has also been donating school blocks and equipment to schools in the state.
To up the ante, Frank Archibong is sponsoring a Secondary Schools Science Quiz Competition in the three Senatorial Districts of Akwa Ibom State.
In bygone years, quiz provided healthy competition among schools in the state. While the state government has been holding such competitions with mouth watering prizes for participants, individuals have not done enough to replicate the efforts of the state government. Hon. Frank Archibong is one who is, however, an exception.
He is taking quiz competitions to the length and breadth of the state. Done under his foundation, Frank Archibong Educational Scheme (FAES), the competition is for secondary schools.
Dubbed as ‘Secondary Schools Science Challenge’, the competition, according to its organizers, would “help inspire students to develop creative problem solving skills.”
Centres, date and time for the competition in the three Senatorial Districts are as follows:
*Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District –
Science College, Ediene Abak, Abak LGA, by 10:00am on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
*Uyo Senatorial District – Uyo High School, Uyo LGA, on June 30, 2021 by 10:00am.
*Eket Senatorial District – Rehoboth Hall of Royalty Hotel, Eket LGA, on July 2, 2021.
Participants are set to smile home with fat cash and glittering prizes.
This is a laudable gesture from the education-loving Commissioner.
Taking the quiz competition to the three Senatorial District puts him up as a detribalized man whose love for his state is unwavering.
