FEDPOLY Ukana acknowledges contributions of immediate past Governing Council Chairman
…says Chief Sanusi contributed immensely to the growth of the institution
The Federal Polytechnic, Ukana in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has appreciated the immediate past Chairman, Governing Council of the Polytechnic, Chief Yemi Sanusi, for his invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the institution during his tenure as Chairman of the Governing Council.
Acting Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Mrs. Mercy Ebong represented by the Registrar of the institution, Dr. Okon Ekanem conveyed the appreciation letter on behalf of the Management, Staff and Students, Monday February 19, 2024 during a thank you visit to Chief Sanusi at his Abeokuta country home in Ogun State.
The Polytechnic had noted with gratitude, his outstanding contributions and leadership qualities during his tenure.
The letter which reads in part,”We write to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to you for your outstanding contributions and leadership during your tenure as Chairman of the Governing Council of the Polytechnic””.
The Polytechnic noted that Chief Sanusi’s tenure was marked by an unwavering commitment to excellence, strategic vision, and dedication to the advancement of Federal Polytechnic, Ukana.
“Under your guidance, the Polytechnic achieved significant milestones, fostering a positive and conducive environment for both academic and administrative excellence””.
“The Federal Polytechnic, Ukana community has greatly benefited from your wisdom, experience, and tireless efforts to ensure the Polytechnic’s continued growth and success””.
The institution listed the initiatives and contributions spearheaded by the immediate past Chairman of the Governing Council to include, the movement from the Annex Campus to the Main Campus, the Accreditation of Programmes, Construction of Library Extension and Fire Station as well as the overall growth and reputation of the institution, describing the achievements of the institution under his watch as clear testimonies of his tenacity and fatherly disposition.
The Polytechnic wished him all the best in his new endeavours.
“As you transit to new endeavours please accept our heartfelt gratitude for your exemplary service. Your leadership has set a benchmark for future endeavours, and we are confident that the foundation you laid will continue to guide our institution toward even greater achievements””.

Responding, an elated Chief. Yemi Sanusi, appreciated the Polytechnic for the visit and for recognizing his efforts and that of the immediate past Governing Council.
He tasked the Polytechnic to sustain the legacies left by the immediate past Management and the Governing Council by upholding high academic standard and sustenance of state- of -the- arts infrastructure and equipment put in place.
In his words,” I will be more happy and fulfilled when I turn back to see the institute growing and making progress.
Do well to sustain the academic standard that has been set, make the school better than we left it” he stressed.
Chief Sanusi who holds the chieftaincy title of Asoju-Oba Egba dedicated his success as Chairman of Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Ukana to God and collaboration between the Council and Management of the Polytechnic. He wished the Management, Staff and Students success in their various pursuits.
Highpoint of the the appreciation visit witnessed the presentation of memento from the Polytechnic to Chief Yemi Sanusi. In attendance during the visit was the Public Relations Officer and Head of Protocol of the Polytechnic,Elder Manasseh Umoette.
