FedPoly Ukana: Rotary Club honours Rector, Dr. Uduak Ukekpe for outstanding service
The Rector Federal Polytechnic, Ukana, Dr. Uduak S. Ukekpe has received an award for his outstanding service from Rotary Club of Ikot Ekpene Metropolis.
The award was presented to the polytechnic boss during the installation of Rotarian Akan-Mary Udo as 2nd President of the Rotary Club Ikot Ekpene Metropolis at the Ruunic Event Centre, Ikot Ekpene last weekend.
The President of the Rotary Club, Ikot Ekpene Metropolis,Barr Akan-Mary Udoh described Dr. Ukekpe as a seasoned and thoroughbred administrator whose wealth of experience has helped transformed the Polytechnic into a very viable Center for technical education.
The Chairman of the occasion Hon. Justice Ekerette Ebienyie RTD. described Rotary Club as an association of people with the passion to make the society a better place for all. He congratulated Barr Akan-Mary Udoh on his Installation as President hailed the awardees for meriting Rotary’s recognition.
Responding , Dr Ukekpe in his goodwill message, appreciated the Rotary Club of Ikot Ekpene for the award. He used the medium to to express his excitement on the installation of Rotn. Akan-Mary Udo as 2nd President of Rotary Club of Ikot Ekpene, stating that it was a well deserved honour in view of his humanitarian services.
“ We are excited to be identified with Rotn. Alan- Mary Udo and his passion for humanity. We do hope that this platform of service will challenge and propel him to contribute more to the advancement of humanitarian services and development of Nigeria” he said.
Dr. Ukekpe thanked Rotary Club for the honour and said it will spur him and his Management team to do more to ensure that Federal Polytechnic, Ukana becomes a center of excellence for technical education in Nigeria.
The high point of the event was the presentation of award to Dr. Ukekpe by the Rotarian Aka Emah
Present at the event were awardee’s from various categories which included, Sir Emem Akpabio KJW, Rotn Enobong Billy Etuk , Hon Justice Ekerette Ebienyie, Lady Rosemary Pius Idiong amongst others.
