The West African Examination Council, WAEC, has withheld a total of two hundred and fifteen thousand and forty-nine (215,049) candidates’ results over examination malpractice.
This was contained in a statement from Patrick Areghan, Head of the National office, disclosed this during a Press briefing Monday.
He said a total of 1,549,740 registered for the examination.
Mr Areghan said 1,338, 348 representing 86.99% obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five subjects (ie with or without English Language and/or Mathematics).
He added that 1,003, 668 candidates representing 65.24% obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
Mr Areghan said WAEC recorded an improvement in candidates’ performance compared to previous year.
