Silver Jubilee: Essien Udim first lady felicitates Notre Dame Secondary School at 25, charges 2021 graduands on proper conduct
Wife of the Chairman, Essien Udim Local Government Council, Mrs Umoh Gabriel Tony-udoh has charged graduating students of Notre Dame Girls Secondary school, Urua Edet Obo, Essien Udim to be good ambassadors of the institution.
The Chairman’s wife was the special guest of honour at the 2021 graduation and 25th Silver Jubilee celebrations of the school on Saturday, 16th October 2021, congratulated the graduands and wish them well in their future career.
While commending the students for their resilience, commitments to academic activities in the past six years in the school, She urged them to reciprocate their parents investments in their educational pursuit by respecting them and also making them proud.
The first Lady also tasked the graduands not to relax in their academic pursuit but should pursue their future career with passion and diligence noting that the sky is their limit.
According to her, the school has done their part by moulding them to be responsible citizens and charged them to apply the knowledge gained in useful ventures to further improve their lives.
The Chairman’s wife also cautioned the graduands to take their personal security seriously as they go into the larger society to avoid been molested or harassed by hoodlums.
While commending the school for developmental stride in the past 25 years, the Chairman’s wife donated to the Staff quarter’s project and also pledged her continuous support to the progress of the institution.
She was accompanied to the event by the Vice chairman of Essien Udim, Hon Mrs Emem Ekarika, the Leader of Essien Udim Legislative Council, Mary R. Charles, the Councilor representing Ukana East Ward 1, Hon. Uduak Johnson, the Supervisory Councilor for Women Affairs, Ms Mary Akpan James, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter Women Leader, Hon. Rose Thompson
In her welcome remarks, the Principal of the school, Rev Sister Etini Udom said the school has accomplished the goals it was established to achieved in the past 25 years though not without challenges.
The Rev Sister noted that the school has maintained quality academic standard by imparting high moral standards, virtues and values to the girl child.
She lauded the proprietor of the School and Bishop of Ikot Ekpene Catholic Diocese, Dr. Camillus R. Umoh and the Founder of the school, Bishop Camillus Etukudo.
She also commended the Chairman’s wife, Mrs Umoh Gabriel Tonyudoh and her husband, Mr Anthony Udoh for their passion and immense contributions to the growth of the school and for ensuring adequate security of both students and staff of the school.
