Essien Udim Council Boss Marks 42 Days in Office with Massive Rural Roads Grading
With today marking one month and 12 days in office and his recognition of the critical role that roads play in the socio-economic development of any locality, most expecially in the grassroots, Hon.(Elder) Ntiedo Usoro, Executive Chairman of Essien Udim Local Government Area, flagged-off major rural road grading at Ikpe Ikot Ekpe, Ikpe Annang Ward in Essien Udim Local Government Area.
The inauguration, which took place earlier today, Monday 18th November 2024, began with the grading of Ikpe Ikot Ekpe road, a major thoroughfare connecting various communities in the area.
Speaking at the official flag-off, the Chairman, joined by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Sir Uduak Isobara, and the Honourable Councillor representing Ikpe Annang Ward, Hon. Malachi Ekpo, highlighted the crucial role of robust road networks in stimulating economic expansion and improving community well-being. The Chairman underscored that the road grading project demonstrates his dedication to addressing the community’s needs, promoting socio-economic activities, and honoring his campaign promise.
Expressing his commitment to providing effective service delivery to the residents of Essien Udim local government, Hon. Usoro noted that he must ensure that the internal roads in the 13 wards are in good condition to alleviate the difficulties faced by residents in commuting, enabling smooth transportation and easy accessibility for the residents.
Commending the Chairman’s development initiatives, Hon. Emmanuel Isidore, APC Political leader of Ikpe Annang, and Hon. Sunday Ekam, Chairman of Ikpe Development Association, jointly lauded the Council Chairman for initiating major community road projects, starting from Ikpe Annang ward, within a remarkable one month and 12 days in office, and pledged their sustained backing for a harmonious administration during his tenure.
The Councillor representing Ikpe Annang ward, Hon. Malachy Ekpo, expressed gratitude in his vote of thanks, commending the Chairman for a satisfactory start, assured the people of Ikpe Annang of more life touching projects under their administration.
