Ikot Ekpene Transition Committee Members In Partnership With Personal Assistants To The Governor Flag Off Skills Acquisition And Entrepreneurship Program in the LGA.
The Ikot-Ekpene Local Government Transition Committee, led by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Sir. John Cleton Etim has flagged off skills acquisition/entrepreneurship development program across all the wards in Ikot-Ekpene.
The program which flagged off yesterday, Tuesday by the Ikot-Ekpene Transition Committee in partnership with Personal Aides to the Governor from the area, is inline with the Arise Agenda of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno.
The program which was flagged off in Ward two, had a large turnout of the people of the Ward who were all excited as they poured encomiums on the TRC Chairman, his members and the Governor’s Aides.
Flagging of the program, Hon. John Etim, thanked members of the Transition Committee for their dedication, commitment and co-operation which has led to the successful flag off of the skills training program. He also extended his gratitude to stakeholders in Ikot Ekpene for painstakingly nominating eligible and capable hands to serve in the committee.
The Council Chairman further appreciated the Personal Assistants to the Governor for their partnership.
Sir. Cleton also admonished those who were nominated for the skills acquisition and entrepreneurship program to take the training seriously, be committed, focused and resilient till the end of their training maintaining that the training was targeted at improving their economic wellbeing, as they are expected to add value to the society at the end of their training.
The immediate past Member who represented Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara at the Green Chamber, Rt. Hon. Nsikak Ekong, was present at the event, and commended the Transition Chairman for the initiative. In addition, he volunteered to offer scholarship to some youths of Ikot-Ekpene wishing to study any course of their choice at a private Polytechnic, LOAM POLYTECHNIC.
Furthermore, the immediate past Chairman of Ikot Ekpene LGA, Rt. Hon. Unyime Etim, who said he was excited at the skills development initiative of his successor-in-office, lauded his leadership qualities.
Unyime Etim who declared that he was impressed at the performance of the Caretaker Chairman, also supported the skills acquisition program by volunteering to support additional persons to participate in the program.
Highpoint of the event were appreciation and commendation from the people of the ward.
