Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN: The best is yet to come
Arriving at the peak of one’s professional career is the dream of all men. And this is the sense of fulfilment that radiates all over former PDP National Legal Adviser, Barr Emmanuel Enoidem who will today be conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, alongside 57 others for year 2023, at the Supreme Court, in Abuja.
Indeed, life provides no higher satisfaction than surmounting difficulties, passing from one step of success to another, forming new wishes and seeing them gratified.
Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN, who served as PDP National Legal Adviser from December 10, 2017 to December 9, 2021, needs no much introduction as his records in the political landscape of Akwa Ibom State, the legal profession and the nation speaks for itself.
You may love or loathe him. You may adore or abjure him. You may hate or venerate him. You may detest or deify him. But what you surely cannot do is to ignore Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN. This is one man who is not everything to everybody. You either love him passionately or you hate him intensely, due to;
the courage of his conviction;
the audacity of his passion;
the resilience of his loyalty;
the depth of his faith in God;
the strength of his beliefs;
the discipline of his professional ethics;

He is firm and determined.
He is righteously stubborn in standing by and for what he believes is right and just.
Imbued with an uncommon ability and resilience, Enoidem is a classic exemplar of grace under pressure, sacrifice under ambition and patriotism over self. Gentle but manly when it matters, always guided by a moral compass that does not waver according to the circumstance. He does not change his beliefs by the situation. Instead of bending his principles to fit the situation, he always exercises the moral fortitude and courage to make the situation subservient to his principles and beliefs. He personifies honour, simplicity, humility and grace.
Urbane, ever curious and intellectually alert, once his mind is made on an issue, it is irreversible and he has a unique ability and charisma of galvanizing the people to come together to the logic of his convictions and beliefs.
A quiet and reticent fellow devoted to the upliftment of humanity, lavishing kindness and affection on all who come his way without any ethnic or religious bias. Enoidem is a model Nigerian and Akwaibomite, detribalized, visionary and possessing an analytical mindset.
Despite his accomplishments as a successful lawyer and politician, he does not push himself or push anybody around. He is a life of humility and studied self-effacement. He is exceptionally brilliant but not puffy, well-heeled but not extravagant.
On Friday, November 19, 2021, he was inaugurated as the National Chairman of Maintain Peace Movement, MPM, Akwa Ibom’s foremost grassroot mobilisation organisation that galvanized, rallied and mobilized Akwa Ibom residents and citizens both at home and in the diaspora to embrace, nurture and consolidate on the prevailing peace in the State by voting for His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno and the PDP.
Born on July 27, 1964, Emmanuel Moses Enoidem, SAN, FCArb, started his Primary Education from 1970-1976 at Primary School, Afaha Obo, Ukanafun LGA of Akwa Ibom State. He proceeded to Northern Annang Secondary Commercial School, Utu Etim Ekpo, Abak LGA for his Secondary Education from 1976-1981.
The Etim Ekpo born Senior Advocate of Nigeria attended the University of Science and Technology, Rivers State from 1984-1988 where he read Law and attended the Lagos Law School from 1988-1989. He got his LLM from the University of Uyo from 1993-1996. He had his PWC IPSAS Training in 2014 and capped it with a London Business School (LBS) Certificate in 2016.
After his graduation, he has had numerous work experience which include, Legal Adviser for MAMSER in Benin City from 1989-1990, Private Legal Practice, Victor Oviosun & Co, Benin: 1990, Private Legal Practice, Dr Aquaowo Essien & Co, Uyo: 1990-1992, Private Legal Practice, Enoidem & Associates, Uyo: 1992 till date, Assistant Lecturer, University of Uyo: 1992-2002, Legal Adviser, Social Democratic Party (SDP), Etim Ekpo-1992- 1993, and State Publicity Secretary, NBA, Akwa Ibom State-1996-1998.
Politically, Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN, has also made his mark. He was Executive Chairman Etim Ekpo LGA-1997-1998, PDP State Treasurer, Akwa Ibom State, 2001-2007, Member 2007 PDP State Elections Central Planning Committee, Commissioner, Housing & Urban Renewal- 2007-2013, Commissioner for Special Duties-2013-2015, Supervisory Commissioner, Ministry of Housing & Urban Renewal: 2013-2014, Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry: 2015 – 2016, Secretary Akwa Ibom State PDP Election Planning Council-2015, PDP National Legal Adviser: 2017 – 2021 and Chairman, Maintain Peace Movement, MPM: 2022 till date.
The new SAN is a member of numerous rofessional bodies such as Nigerian Bar Association:1889 – date, Academic Staff Union of University ASUU: 1992-2002, Nigerian Law Teachers Association: 1992-2002, and ellow Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators: 2022, among others. His Hobbies includes Football, Javelin, Reading and Indoor Games.
