Don’t dare me! Essien Udim Council boss warns hoodlums, gives criminals 24hours to leave the area
The Chairman, Essien Udim Local Government Area, Mr Anthony Luke has sounded a note of warning to hoodlums asking them to leave the area or risk arrest and prosecution.
The Chairman who stated this while addressing Elders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at the council secretariat decried the growning rate of criminalities, cultism and violence behaviour in the area.
He stressed that his administration has zero tolerant to criminalities, cultism, corruption and will not spare anyone who disrupts the peace and harmony in the area.
The council boss gave cultists and criminals 24hours to repent of their evil acts or be visited with the full wrath of the law.
The Chairman who condemned attack on innocent citizens in some parts of the area recently charged parents to advise their wards against cultism criminalities and engage themselves in positive and useful ventures for a better tomorrow.
He also tasked youths in the area who are members of any secret cult groups to denounce them and turn a new leaf or be ready to face the law.
Luke who was decisive in his warning said he will not fold his hands and watch hoodlums terrorise and unleash mayhem in the area and do nothing.
He added that the time criminals used to have a field day to operate in the area has long gone and vowed to make the area too hot for them if they refused to repent of their evil ways.
The Chairman who also warned those involve in illegal taxation and touting in the markets to stop with immediate effect, stressing that, he will not leave any stone unturned in flushing out criminals from the area.
“Essien Udim will be too hot for kidnappers, armed robbers, touts, bandits and anyone with criminal tendencies… If you belong to any of these categories you have 24hours to pack your loads and leave Essien Udim,” the Chairman stressed.
The Chairman who visited Ikot Essien village were there was disturbances by some youths charged them to embrace peace and shun violence.
