Behavioural and attitudinal change have been identified as part of the measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus among rural dwellers.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Delinton Investments Nigeria, Ikot Ekpene, Obong Anthony X. Ekutt who made the assertion while donating food stuffs to members of Ikot Idem Udo village in Essien Udim as palliative to cushion the effect of COVID 19 among members of the community recently, commended the state government for putting measures in place to check the spread of coronavirus in the state.
While sensitizing the people on the dreaded effect of COVID 19, the business man charged the people to shun some cultural practices that will expose them to the deadly virus.
The philanthropist added that the people should disabuse their minds from the negative thought that coronavirus is not real, warning that the coronavirus is real and does not respect anyone- rich or poor.
He called for a change in some communal lifestyle and adhere strictly to the instructions and measures put in place by government and medical expert to curb the spread of the deadly COVID 19 such as hand washing or use of hand sanitizer, social distancing, wearing of mask especially in the market and other crowded places. He also urged them to discontinue some celebrations, festivities or gatherings that may expose them to the dangers of COVID 19.
Obong Ekutt urged the people to continue to pray for their sons and daughters at home and in diaspora for God to protect them against any evil diseases and other danger while also praying also praying for the state and federal governments for God to lead them to do the right thing during this global pandemic of coronavirus.

Inwang who lamented that the COVID 19 has imparted negatively on the socio-economic life of the people, called on other well to do members of the community at home and abroad to come to their aid.
He promised that as law abiding citizens and health conscious people they will abide by the rules and regulations giving by governments and medical experts on prevention of COVID 19.
