Brouhaha about palliative in Akwa Ibom: Without mincing words
It is pitiable how people crave for one falsehood or the other to use against their fellow man whether or not such holds water. The story of the non-existing Palliative in Akwa Ibom has been so sung high by critics of the State Government so much that it has become necessary to put up a few reminders.
First, palliatives sent to Akwa Ibom State were collated and distributed thrice across the three senatorial districts of the State. There are more than enough pictorial evidences on several platforms to buttress this.
Second, the process of collating, documentation and distribution have never been so transparent as it were. All items donated were published both in national and local tabloids, during the second phase of the distribution exercise in July.
As such, there is no warehouse in the state hoarding palliatives; no such place would be seen even if a siege is laid on the state. The insinuations about a Warehouse are figments of mischievous elements trying to incite the public against the Government.
The Governor Udom Emmanuel we know cannot hoard what belongs to Akwa Ibom people rather, he has demonstrated selflessness in using his connections to develop Akwa Ibom State. Even more, his antecedents as a banker par excellence are top-notch. What then would he be hoarding bags of rice, garri and noodles meant for the masses for?
As a matter of importance, there is no Warehouse in Akwa Ibom where palliatives are hoarded.
Let the malicious insinuations and search stop. Governor Emmanuel is more than that!
