Akwa Ibom upbeats for 34th Anniversary Celebration
There is a celebration mood in Akwa Ibom State as the Land of Promised marks the 34th-anniversary of state creation on Thursday, 23rd September, 2021.
Briefing the press in Uyo on Wednesday, 22 September 2021, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Ini Ememobong said activities have been lined up for the 2021 celebration of the creation of the state
The Promised Land was created alongside Katsina State in 1987 by the Military Regime of General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.
This year’s celebration as usual will witness the commissioning of various projects executed by the administration of Deacon Udom Emmanuel among other programmes.
The Commissioner revealed that the Vice President of Nigeria, Mr. Yemi Osingbajo is expected in Akwa Ibom State to flag-off the Dakkada Luxury Estate in Akwa Ibom State on Friday
Ini Ememobong further explained that the governor will not declare public holiday in the state to mark the state anniversary as the event will be done in low key.
While stating that the Governor will in addition to project commissioning also swear in the State Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council.
Other projects for commissioning as part of the state 34th-anniversary celebration include Ikot Ekpene General Hospital, Uyo-Ikot Ekpene Road and others.
