Akwa Ibom Police Command deploy 496 special constabularies

The Akwa Ibom Police Command has received, briefed and deployed 496 Police Special Constabularies to various Divisions across the Command.
The Police Public Relation Officer, SP Odiko MacDon in a statement on Tuesday in Uyo, said that the Constabularies were from Akwa Ibom origine.
The Statement said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Amiengheme Andrew tasked the recruite to remain discipline and avoid act capable of giving Nigerian Police Force bad name.
Andrew, who identified their major role to be assisting the Police in performing its constitutionally assigned responsibilities, assured them of his continued availability
“Sixteen 16 each were picked out of the 50 selected from each of the 31 Local Government Areas of the State to participate in the first batch of training which took place at Police Training School (PTS) Calabar.
“I want you (Special Constabularies) up to be disciplined and eschew any act capable of denting the image of the Nigeria Police Force in the State”.
The Commissioner called on the State Government to liaise with the State Command and assist in sending other batches for the training.
However, the four hundred and ninety-six (496) special constabularies were each returned to the Divisions of their Local Government Areas to boost the manpower drive of the Command.
