Akwa Ibom PDP declares: Again, the God of victory showed up for us!
Results declared by the Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission, AKISIEC at the end of the 2020 Local Government Elections conducted on Saturday, October 31, 2020 show that candidates of our party, have been declared as winners in all the 31 Chairmanship as well as 367 Councillorship positions, across the State.
We are as usual, humbled by this loud and sweeping reaffirmation by Akwa Ibom people about their preference for the Peoples Democratic Party. We do not take for granted, this serial expression of trust in our party by Akwa Ibom people.
We congratulate our candidates on their deserving victory and urge them to be magnanimous in victory by building bridges across the different political spectrum for the benefit of their respective Local Governments and our state.
In keeping with the tradition of our members in Akwa Ibom State, we are hopeful that victorious Chairmen and Councillors will lead administrations entrenched in good governance and uphold the tenets of effective representation in their various domains.
As a Party committed to the ideals of democracy, we appreciate the wisdom of His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel by giving the nod for the expansion of the state’s political base through the creation of 39 new political wards which is lawful to all political parties to expand their structure. We also commend His Excellency for his strategic support to the party and our candidates and indeed his general peaceful and democratic disposition that ensured the smooth conduct of the elections.
We also acknowledge AKISIEC for conducting a peaceful and very organized elections in the state that will serve as a benchmark for future elections.
