Ibom Angels: Sports Ministry suspends management, technical crews over poor results

The Ministry of Youth and Sports in Akwa Ibom State has suspended the Management and Technical crew of Ibom Angels Football Club with immediate effect.
In a letter signed by the Director of Sports, Elder Ifiok Duff, dated 26th February, 2021, and made available to the press, the affected officials are to handover all club’s property, while Coach Usen Ebuk takes over in the interim.
According, to the letter, “Given the spate of poor results that has culminated in Ibom Angels playing 7 (seven) matches and losing five, to place 13th on a 14 team log, it has become necessary to arrest the situation before it gets out of hand.”
“Ibom Angels, two time Aiteo cup finalists and pride of women football in Nigeria cannot be allowed to slide into ridicule despite all the support extended to the Management for the smooth running of the club.”
“Subsequently, management and technical crew of Ibom Angels Football Club stands suspended with immediate effect.”
“The affected officials are to hand over all club property to Elder Ifiok Duff who is saddled with the responsibility of running the club in interim capacity, while Coach Usen Ebuk is to take charge of technical duties also in the interim. Further directives will be issued in due course.”
