UNIUYO UWA President identifies with Christmas baby
– Doles out gifts, cash to patients in UNIUYO Health Centre

The Wife of the Vice Chancellor, University of Uyo (UNIUYO), and President, University of Uyo Women Association (UWA), Mrs. Uduak Ndaeyo in sober reflection of Christmas celebration, has visited University of Uyo Health Centre and also identified with a new born baby delivered early hours on Christmas morning.
Mrs. Uduak Ndaeyo, in company of the University of Women Association (UWA) members, arrived the University Health Centre at exactly 7:00am on Christmas Day to recieve new born baby(ies), and as well, celebrate the significance of the day with patients in the Health Centre with gifts and benevolence of UWA.
The First Lady of the University and her entourage was received by staff of the Centre and later directed to the unit where Mrs. Joy Chinyere gave birth to a new born baby girl early hours on Christmas morning and other patients in different units. Mrs. Ndaeyo in expression of her heartfelt joy and gratitude to God for the new born baby, gave the mother, Mrs. Joy Chinyere gifts and money to take care of herself and the baby.
Mrs. Ndaeyo said that Christmas is very important moment in the life of Christians, as it is a time to show love, care and passion to others, especially the less privileged in the society. She added that when Jesus was born, the three wise men went and visited him with gifts.
She pointed out that Christmas can not be completed without gifts. According to her, the University of Uyo Women Association (UWA) decided to visit the Centre to celebrate with new baby(ies) and also comfort those who are indeed and pains with goodnews of Christmas.
Mrs. Ndaeyo and other women in the University community received the new baby with prayer and also fete patients with gifts and cash to take care of themselves. She further assured them that their visit and gifts offered to them are gifts of mothers, according to her, their gifts have some spiritual blessings, as it will help them to recover speedily.
Mrs. Ndaeyo also advised patients at the Centre and those outside the University community to put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ who is the reason for the season, adding that every problem can be solved by him alone, according to her, Jesus is capable to do all things.
The University of Uyo First Lady further advised leaders in the society to focus their attentions on welfare of the people, especially the poor and the needed so that there will be peace in the country.
Also speaking, the Vice President, University of Uyo Women Association (UWA), Prof. Enoabasi Urua said that Christmas is a season of Joy, gifts giving, adding that Jesus set example for Christians to follow.
“Christmas is a season we give to people and make them happy, that is why UWA led by its President, Mrs. Uduak Ndaeyo, came to celebrate particularly with Christmas baby, parents, patients and staff of the Centre”.
“We came to advise them not to think about their ill-health but to also think about the joy Christ came to give. Jesus Christ is the reason for this season”, Prof. Urua explained.
On her parts, the Welfare Officer of UWA, Dr. Uyai Akpanobong also said that the Association came to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with staff and patients in the Centre, adding that Christmas is a period of merriment.
She also explained that Christmas is a period to put off whatsoever differences and make peace with one another, and that Jesus Christ brought peace to the universe and humanity at large.
