Unyime Idem: I am preparing my constituents for the future
The Member Representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Unyime Idem says his Investment in the Information and Communication Technology is to prepare his constituents for the future which is driven by digital technology.
Hon. Unyime Idem stated this shortly after inspecting ICT centres and ongoing classroom blocks he initiated for Secondary schools across Ukanafun/ OrukAnam Federal Constituency.
According to him, there is need to imbue students with ICT skills so that they can become relevant in future and enhance employability.
Unyime Idem, the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Communications, opined that digital technology is the key to improved service delivery in every sectors , saying that his constituents must be adequately prepared to keep pace with the global trend.
The lawmaker said his recognition of the pivotal roles of ICT
necessitated his huge Investment and committment to improve the constituents with the ICT knowledge.
He advised the benefitting schools to make effective use of the equipment provided to develop themselves for the future.
Hon Unyime Idem explained that the entire world is going digital and
that training of Children without ICT skills will not guarantee the best.
Responding, the Vice Principal Administration, Mr. Asangatim Iniobong and students of Community High School, Usung Atiat, applauded Hon. Idim for his interest in the well-being of his constituents , saying that through the gesture, they will reposition themselves to meet up with the demands of contemporary society which is knowledge driven
