Udom’s Industrial Revolution in Akwa Ibom and Media Community
The oil rich state, Akwa lbom, in Nigeria is currently experiencing industrial revolution, courtesy of Governor Udom Emmanuel-led government. Thus, with the present administration’s industrialization project, the future of Akwa Ibom state is brighter as evident in numerous industries spread across the three senatorial districts of the state.
Interestingly, the former civil service state is transiting into industrial hub with an unprecedented rise in the rate of population growth. Nevertheless, industrial activities are the dominant of this transition in terms of employment, value of output and capital invested.
Governor Emmanuel’s idea, as one of Nigeria’s renowned economists, is to see Akwa lbom becoming the Nigeria’s leading commercial state, controlling a national trading empire with subsidiaries in other federating units of this country and beyond. That is why, presently in the state, the development of trade and the rise of business are becoming the order of this administrative tenure.
Hence, Gov Emmanuel-led administration is marking a major turning point in the history of Akwa lbom state. Almost every aspect of the state’s life is influenced in some way by this wave of change, as average income and population began to exhibit unprecedented sustained growth.
However, political gladiators have observed the most important effect of this change in the state. According to them however, the standard of living for the general population in the state is begining to increase consistently for the first time in history, although, quite a number of them have also applauded the Governor’s initiative.
While the state Industrialization of this present administration begins an era of economic growth, opinion leaders in the state are in agreement that the idea of industrializing Akwa lbom is the most important event in the history of the state since creation.
Interestingly, it is a thing of joy to also know that, Akwa lbom citizenry are excited of the innovations put in place by Governor Emmanuel-led administration in Akwa lbom state, particularly in the area of industrialization and the array of developmental projects ongoing in the state. Indeed, Governor Emmanuel has demonstrated to be focused and committed and pragmatic in approach towards making Akwa Ibom Nigeria’s commercial hub.
Against this backdrop therefore, it is believe that, the media community in Akwa lbom state has a role to play by using their platforms to effectively market, not just these industries and their products, but also the projects and programmes of the state government for sustainable growth.
Therefore, while imploring the present administration in the state to sustain the tempo for Akwa lbom to become a brand and command respect in the comity of states within the federation, l also urge Akwa lbom citizenry not to relent in supporting Governor Udom Emmanuel-led government. And by so doing, we will continue to enjoy this government’s delivery of mind-blowing dividends of democracy. I Rest My Case!
