…Dismisses insinuations of Akpabio, Unoma owning De Choice Mall
The Management of De Choice Mall Uyo has said that equipment, cash and items worth ₦50million was looted and destroyed by hoodlums who invaded the facility during the EndSARS Protest in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State recently.
Recall that hoodlums invaded De Choice Mall Uyo situated by the Ibom Plaza Uyo during the recent broke down of law and order in Uyo as a result of the hijacked of the EndSARS protest by hoodlums who embarked on looting spree in Uyo, AkwaI bom State Capital few weeks ago.
Speaking with Morenews.ng Correspondent, the Uyo Branch Manager, Mr Dan Friday solicited governments support to help ameliorate the set back the looting, damages and destruction have done to their business by the “unfortunate” event.
Mr Friday dismissed the speculations in some quarters that De Choice Mall is owned by Senator Godswill Akpabio and wife, Unoma, adding that the owner of the business is an Igbo man who is not even a politician nor have any relationship with Senator Akpabio.
He also described as untrue the insinuations that the attack on the shopping mall was politically motivated stressing that they are only one of the “victims of circumstance.”
Friday, noted that De Choice Mall Uyo has enjoyed goodwill and patronage of the people over the years.
He noted that the hoodlums only attacked the fast food section of the mall and carted away their equipments, gadgets, food items, cash and also destroyed their facilities at the fast food.
Friday thanked God that the hoodlums didnt gain entry into the super-market as the place was well protected.
He said the incidence which he described as “unfortunate” has brought serious set back to the business but stated that no staff has been sacked as a result of the incidence.
Mr Friday however said that De Choice Mall Uyo is “back and better”, calling on their esteem customers to continue to patronize them as they are poised to render effective servuces to the people of Akwa Ibom and visitor to the state.
The manager urged Akwa Ibom people to take support the business as they are in the state to serve the people and also contribute to the economic growth of the state adding that they business has enjoyed high level of patronage since her establishment in the state.
He stated that the centre also offers outdoor services such as event planning and food delivery services to customers homes.
