Lekki genocide exposes government insincerity
I couldn’t sleep all through the night as my thought ran through and through the Lekki Tollgate genocide.
I was restless, since I woke up by 1:00 a.m. searching for appropriate words but, to say the least, I am short of words to describe the heartless Lekki genocide.
May I ask; General Muhammadu Buhari, ‘are you on war with innocent and harmless Nigerian youth?’
You unleashed soldiers to shoot at and kill the youth who are merely staging peaceful protests demanding for #GoodGovernance and #Accountability, instead of coming out to address them.
I still can’t believe this. It is still like a movie scene, watching online clips of the incident. It is so sad the kind of leaders who imposed themselves on us. I think their mental state need thorough psychological and medical re-evaluation.
How do their wives and children sleep, seeing what is going on in Lekki and other parts of the Nigerian State?
Our leaders have failed us woefully. They have crossed the redline. Is it not ridiculous that State governments set up Judicial Panel of Inquiry to investigate extra-judicial killings by law enforcement agencies on the directives of the federal government, and few days and/or hours later, a genocide took place on the orders of the same government?
It is time for our National Assembly to wake up and stand by the Nigerian masses now that the ovation is high. This is my wake up call to our National lawmakers for them to rise up and save our hard earned democracy.
I will not be thinking for the National Assembly members but, in other climes, by now, we should be discussing about impeachment proceedings against the President?
May the blood of all the youth killed during these peaceful protests seek and obtain justice from the hands of their killers.
