Okorocha bangs 2023 presidencial ambition on Nigeria’s unity
The senator representing IMO West Senatorial District, Senator Owelle Rochas Okorocha , has said that he will present himself to Nigerians to be considered for the topmost job in the country, if his becoming the president of Nigeria will unite the country.
“If my presidency will unite Nigerians, if it will ensure that every child goes to a well equipped school without paying school fees, if it will eradicate poverty, if my presidency will strengthen the Nigerian economy and make food available to all Nigerians, then, I will like to be President, Senator Okorcha said.
The multibillionaire investor and philanthropist made this known when leaders of the Youth Empowerment for Change Initiative (YECI), visited his Unity House office in Abuja to felicitate him on his 58th birthday anniversary.
The group which had earlier described Owelle as “Nigeria’s Uniter-in-Chief”, identified tribalism, mistrust and promotion of sectional and religious sentiments above the collective interest of the country as key factors militating against the progress and prosperity of Nigeria.
They said that for Nigeria to attain its potentials as a world leader, the country needs a leader at the center who would see Nigeria as his constituency and not build up walls of division.
The leader of the group, Dr. Manzu Abubakar said; “Owelle Rochas Okorocha is one Nigerian politician who has consistently put Nigeria forth and refused to pander to the usual ethnic or religious sentiments in order to win elections. We believe that going forward, Nigeria needs a unifier who would see every part of Nigeria as his primary constituency and we think that Rochas perfectly fits the bill.”
The group also declared that they had started mobilization across the 774 LGAs of the country to sensitize Nigerians on the need to support Owelle Rochas Okorocha for presidency in 2023, and according to them, the response has been mostly encouraging.
