The Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has revealed how he helped Adams Oshiomhole to emerge as governor of Edo State by financing his election campaigns.
He said he also helped Oshiomhole during the election which he won.
Governor Obaseki is the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) standard bearer in the September 19 Edo State governorship election
The governor who stated this during a live television governorship debate said he funded the predecessor’s election because he was broke as former Labour leader.
He also stated that he drew the blueprint Oshiomhole was implementing during his administration and that was why Oshiomhole could trust him to succeed him to continue the implementation of the blueprint.
But the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has described the assertion by Governor Obaseki that he funded Oshiomhole’s election as lie adding that Obaseki on contributed ₦100,000 to Oshiomhole’s campaign.
On the allegation that he voted for Oshiomhole, The APC candidate said that the governor lied as he was not voted before except in his elections in 2016.
