LG Polls 2024: Aluko Tips PDP, Eno Patrick For Victory in Essien Udim
The Transition Chairman of Essien Udim, Dr. Anthony Luke (Aluko), has expressed strong confidence in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winning the upcoming local government elections scheduled for October 5th.
The council chairman gave the assurance during the Enoabasi campaign visit to Okon Ward on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
He stated that Okon people are proud of the compassionate leadership and initiative of Governor Umo Eno as the leader of the party noting that the only way to show gratitude and reciprocate the governor’s gesture toward the people particularly through his administration’s ARISE Agenda is to vote for PDP and also support the governor.
“Okon people are not ingrates. We are beneficiaries of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), so it will be unfair for us to vote another party and abandon the PDP we all benefitted from. We appreciate the governor’s benevolence to the people of Okon and Essien Udim in general by carrying everybody – youths, women, widows, aged along in his administration’s ARISE Agenda,” he said.
Dr. Luke further stressed the importance of loyalty to PDP, urging the people to support the party’s candidates across all levels and also pointed out the necessity for the Essien Annang political bloc to produce the next council chairman, given that the Udim bloc currently holds the House of Assembly seat.
His word, “Enobong, the worse thing that can happen to us in Essien Udim is to allow another political party to win this election. So, I can assure you without mincing words that Okon will give you block votes within three hours on the election day, Odoro Ikot 1&2 will return you too, Ekpenyong 1&2 will return you, Afaha 1&2 will do the same. So, I have no doubt that you and other PDP Candidates will win this election because you are the people’s choice.
“We will mobilize massively to ensure your victory at the poll. Your emergence as our party’s candidate was God’s doing, so, that same God will give you and PDP victory on October 5th”
Addressing the teeming supporters in Okon, the PDP Chairmanship flagbearer, Engr. Eno Patrick thanked the Transition Chairman, Dr. Anthony Luke and the people of Okon for their support so far and promised to carry them along in his administration when he emerges as the executive chairman of the council.
Engr Patrick stated that he has already carried out needs assessment of Okon and promised them dividends of democracy while soliciting more support from the people to win the chairmanship seat.
