UNIUYO Alumni President charges members on giving back to the University
The President of the University of Uyo Alumni Association, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke, has charged newly inaugurated members of the two Committees to deliver exceptional results for the growth and development of the University.
Hon. Luke, gave this charge, during the Committees’ inauguration ceremony held at the Alumni Secretariat, University of Uyo, Main Campus.
According to him, University of Uyo Alumni Association is set out to achieve its objectives with the support of dedicated members who he expects to give their best.
In his words ” the importance of your roles in driving this Association to greater heights cannot be overemphasized and that is why you have been carefully selected. I urge you to leverage your skills for the benefit of this Alumni body and our Alma Mata, the great University of Uyo.
The President provided an overview of the Association’s achievements under his leadership and expressed gratitude to his predecessors for laying a solid foundation.
He announced, the Alumni ‘s planned cash scholarship awards to the best students from each Faculty of the University which he noted was to encourage scholarship among students.
A major highlight of the meeting was the inauguration of the UNIUYO Alumni Homecoming Committee headed by Sir Charles Udoh- Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Akwa Ibom State as well as the Alumni Football Tournament Committee chaired by a former Super Eagles’ captain, Mr Vincent Enyeama, by the President of the University of Uyo Alumni Association.
