Essien Udim Transition Chairman, ALUKO Bids Dad Farewell in Style
The remains of Late Ette Luke Dominic Udoibanga has been laid to rest at the deceased’s country home, Ikot Uko Etor-Okon, Essien Udim LGA after a funeral mass at St Joseph Catholic Parish Okon, on Friday, 19th April, 2024.

Speaking at a carnival -like burial ceremony, Gov Umo Eno described the demise of Late Ette Luke Dominic Udoibanga as a great loss not only to the family but the community in general adding that the deceased was a man of vision who saw the future and invested in it by bringing up his children to become responsible members of the society.
Gov Eno while condoling with the family over the demise of their patriarch urged them to immortalize his lofty legacies by following his footsteps of hard-work, dedication, integrity and discipline.
The State Chief Executive also commended the Chief mourner, Dr Anthony Luke – Transition Chairman of Essien Udim for giving his father a befitting living and also honouring him at death. He prayed for God to give him and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The governor’s entourage at the ceremony were the State Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Enyakenyi, Secretary to the State Government, Mr Enobong Uwa, members of the State Executive Council, members of the House of Assembly, ALGON and the political stakeholders in the state.
In his testimony, the first son of the deceased and Essien Udim Transition Committee chairman, Dr Anthony Luke thanked the governor for honouring his late father by attending the burial ceremony in person despite his tight schedule noting that his father was a strict disciplinarian who spared nothing at ensuring that his children have better life and brighter future.
He maintained that his father dedicated his life to service of God in his vineyard where he served several priests of the Roman Catholic Church for over 40 years.
The Essien Udim helmsman stressed that his father had inculcated in him the virtues of self-discipline, contentment, fear of God and integrity which according to him are key to his success in life and stressed that the deceased will be greatly missed by the family, the church and community.
