New Year: Aluko, Akpabio, Camillus fete Essien Udim Youths
…drum support for Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda
Youths of Essien Udim Local Government Area have been urged to continue to support Pastor Umo Eno’s administration for grassroots development as encapsulated in the ARISE AGENDA.
The Chairman of Essien Udim Transition Committee, Dr. Anthony Luke made the appeal during Essien Udim Youth Get Together in Okon, the country home of the Chairman on Thursday, 4th January 2024 where the council boss, the member representing Essien Udim State Constituency, Hon. Prince Ukpong Udo Akpabio ll and the Commissioner for Power, Engr Camillus Umoh celebrated the youths and also presented Governor Umo Eno’s Christmas and New Year packages to them.
According to the Chairman, the youths have a special role to play in the success of Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE AGENDA and charged them to invest in self-development to enable them to take advantage of the various Programmes of the state government.
He warned the youths against social vices such as rape, violent behaviour and crimes noting that his administration will not spare any youths involved in criminalities.
“Be united and have a formidable front and always exercise self-restraint in all you do. Also, do not involve yourself in any form of crime as my administration will not spare anyone involved in criminalities,” the Chairman remarked.
On his part, the member representing Essien Udim State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Prince Ukpong Udo Akpabio II tasked the youths on unity, togetherness and cooperation among them as he promised more support to the youths.
He stressed that Governor Umo Eno’s administration has a lot in stock for the youths and enjoined them to cooperate with the administration in other to benefit from the governor’s prosperity package.
In his address, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Power, Engr Camillus Umoh who commended the leadership of the youths for the massive mobilization admonished them to maintain peace and tranquility in their community to attract meaningful development.
He urged the youths to eschew gossip, idle talk, blackmail and unnecessary rivalries but always engage themselves in meaningful ventures to improve their lives instead of depending on handouts and peanuts that are not sustainable stressing that Gov Umo Eno is poised to support and encourage enterprising and creative youths.
Responding, the Chairman, Essien Udim Youth Caucus, Engr Udim Awah who lauded the stakeholders for carrying the youths along in their schemes of things pledged the loyalty and continuous support of the youths to Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda and the Chairman of Essien Udim Local Government Council.
He called on the stakeholders to continue to support the youths through good advice and counseling for them to continue to maintain peace at the grassroots.
In his part, the President of Essien Udim Young Leaders, Mr. Ifiok Luke Udoh who commended the Governor Umo Eno for the appointment of the immediate past Executive Chairman of the council, Dr Anthony Luke as the Transition Chairman and solicited for more appointments of the youths of Essien Udim
