Cross River Doubles IGR in 2023 – IRS Boss
Cross River State government has redoubled its revenue generation in the state between the first quarter of 2022 to October 2023.
Prince Edwin Okon, the Chairman of Cross River State Internal Revenue Service, IRS, stated that the state government has significantly increased its revenue generation from N1.9 billion to a whooping N2.97 billion from the first quarter of 2022 to October 2023.
This boost in revenue was announced by Mr. Edwin on Thursday during a two-day training event for tax consultants operating in Cross River State.
During the event, Mr. Edwin used the chance to urge the stakeholders to continue supporting the current government led by Prince Bassey Otu to achieve the revenue target set for the 2024 budget.
The chairman said, “With the cooperation of the stakeholders we were able to realize the revenue generation increase of N2.97B in the first quarter of 2023 as against N1.9B realized in 2022”
This suggests that the state government is aiming to further increase its revenue generation in the coming years and is seeking the collaboration of stakeholders to achieve this goal”
