Ini chairmanship: INI people petition God
The people of INI Local Government Area have gathered at Government Primary School, Usuk Ukwok, to seek the presence of God concerning the upcoming Local Government Election in Akwa Ibom State.
They declared that it is only the God of justice who always fights the battles of His Children will guide them against those that want the thwart the existing political zoning arrangements, by denying them their rights to produce the next Council Chairman of Ini.
The Solemn Assembly which was collectively joined by other concerned and senior citizens of Ini LGA, prayed and handed over the peaceful Land of Ukwok Clan and the entire Local Government Area to the hand of God, asking the Almighty God to protect the land against those that have bad intentions to infiltrate violence and political crisis among the good people of Ini, especially the youth.
They expressed their beliefs in the power of God against any evil plans and other diabolic means by individuals or groups to bring injustice and political crisis in the peaceful coexistence of Ini LGA. Also, they praised and thank God for the gifts of His Excellency, Deac.
Udom Emmanuel as a leader who always listen to the cries and yearnings of his people before taking his final decision. Hence, they offered prayers for God to keep enriching the Governor with His Wisdom to lead the State in the perpetual peaceful atmosphere and also step into the case of INI LGA to avert the pending crisis .
In their separate speeches, the people thank His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for insisting to stand on the existing zoning arrangement in all the LGAs, speaking on behalf of all the former elected chairmen from the creation of INI LGA, Otuekong Hon Effiong Michael described the Governor as a man of high standard and highly principled, maintaining that the reason they decided to run to God is the firmed stance of His Excellency on zoning.
In the attendance were, the two aspirants from Ukwok Ward 10, Dr. Lawrence Udoide and Hon Dickson Abasiekong. Also, the Past Chairman of Ini LGA, Hon. Effiong Udoette, Community Leader of Ukwok, CSP (Rtd) Asuquo Inyang, the Traditional Rulers, Community Women Leader, and Youth Leaders were in attendance.
