PDP Chieftain demands cancellation of 2023 Presidential election
A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Sunny Udonsek, has described the last Presidential and National Assembly elections as the worst in the history of in Nigeria and thereby called for the cancellation and re-conduct of election to make it more transparent and meet acceptability to Nigerians.
Chief Udonsek, who stated this while interacting with the press in his home town in Onna on Saturday, 11th March 2023, noted that the election which was flawed with irregularities and massive rigging to favour a particular presidential candidate is unacceptable to Nigerians and therefore must be reconducted in a more transparent manner.
The PDP founding member in Akwa Ibom State said what happened on Saturday, 25th February 2023 was a sham and has disgraced Nigeria in International community and very unacceptable to anybody who wish Nigeria well,.
The Onna born politician called on the electoral body to redouble to cancel and re-conduct the Presidential election so as not to make Nigeria a laughing stock.
He claimed that the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar won the election in Akwa Ibom State clearly with more votes than it was declared by the state returning officer.
On the March 18 governorship and state assembly elections, the PDP Chieftain charged INEC to “sit-up” and ensure that what happened on the February 25 Presidential Election does not repeat itself as Nigeria heads to the poll to elect their governors and House of Assembly members, calling on Akwa Ibom people to vote for Pastor Umo Eno to succeed Governor Udom Emmanuel and also vote for other PDP candidates as members of the State House of Assembly for continuation of good governance in Akwa Ibom State.
He described the Peoples Democratic Party Governorship Candidate, Pastor Umo Eno as a humble, articulate leaser, who has a listening ear to the plight of Akwa Ibom people, stressing that the governorship hopeful will sustain the peace perpetuated by Governor Udom Emmanuel.
He assured that Udom Emmanuel will leave behind lasting legacies and Pastor Umo Eno will make a better successor who will sustain those legacies and do more for Akwa Ibom State.
While averring that Onna people are proud of their son, Governor Udom Emmanuel for his excellence performance he assured him of the peoples undaunted support for him to succeed in his Completion and succession plans.
