2023: Akwa Ibom monarch predicts victory for PDP Guber Candidate
Paramount Ruler of Oruk Anam Local Government Area, HRM Akuku (Engr.) Johnson Johnny Obosi IV has assured gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Umo Eno that his victory in the forthcoming elections is unstoppable.
The monarch stated this when the PDP/Pastor Umo Eno and Akon Eyakenyi campaign team paid him a courtesy call before proceeding to Ikot Ebritam, the Local Government Council field for the campaign rally.
The royal father noted that the visit to Oruk Anam shouldn’t be for campaigns as such would amount to preaching to the choir.
He maintain that the incumbent administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel has been superlative in his performance in the area, which according to him has given them impetus to support his succession plan.
HRM, Akuku Obosi IV who is a one time supervisor for works, expressed delight that Pastor Eno grew up with a granddaughter of Oruk Aman, and with great ties in the area, assuring that Oruk Anam will never disappoint him.
Earlier in his remarks, the clan head of Obio Akpa, HH Christian Essien stated that he can attest to the fact that Pastor Eno is an upright man and an embodiment of true Christian values, assuring everyone that the Clan Heads in Oruk Anam will continue to pray for his victory.
Addressing the royal father and the traditional institution, Pastor Eno said the visit was to pay traditional respect to them, and assured that if elected, his administration would continue to make the traditional institution comfortable.
Pastor Eno, who evidently has close ties with virtually all the local government areas in the state, disclosed that he grew up with an Oruk Anam granddaughter, his former employer, Dr. (Mrs) Comfort Tonkumoh Isokrari and promised that he would never disappoint the area.
He noted that the focus of the next administration would be rural development through agricbusiness, modern markets, cottage hospitals, model schools, roads and others, adding that Obio Akpa Campus of the Akwa Ibom State University would be supported to run short courses on agriculture.
He maintained that Oruk Anam would be supported to produce palm oil in commercial quantity, while small scale businesses would be supported through the ARISE Agenda.
The Nsit Ubium- born clergyman appreciated the monarch for receiving his team and pledged to continue with the development trajectory of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Pastor Eno, who also commissioned a viewing centre named after the First Lady as well as a water project by the Paramount Ruler, commended the royal father for being an ambassador of the ARISE Agenda by initiating rural development projects.
In a rare expression of their love and support, the Paramount Ruler presented a Holy Bible to Pastor Eno and pronounced Mrs Comfort as Obongawan Uforo of Oruk Anam.
